Our Most Popular and Frequently Used Thread Colors

We have a color to suit just about any look you want, with more than 250 thread colors to choose from. If you have a logo or other design that needs to be as close as possible to the original color(s), send us the Pantone® (PMS) color number, and we will choose the closest-matching thread color

At we offer up to 7 colors and one twill (background) color without incurring any extra charges. You can add additional colors for a slight extra charge.

It’s important to keep in mind that not all computer monitors display colors the same way. The colors you see here only represent a close approximation of the actual thread or twill colors. Pantone PMS coated color numbers are the most accurate way to choose the colors you want. If you need a perfectly precise color to match an existing patch, we strongly recommend that you send us a sample of the existing patch.

Twill and Thread Color Charts

Depending on the percentage of the twill that is covered by embroidery, the color of your backing twill can be important too. While a patch with 100% embroidery covers the entire backing with thread, patches with lesser embroidery will show some of the twill in your design. That’s why we offer a choice of twill colors as well as thread.

While the vast majority of custom patches feature a standard polyester/cotton blend twill backing, we do offer other fabrics as well, including 100% polyester, denim and felt. We also offer reflective twill that increases patch visibility. This is a popular option for low-light situations, including motorcycle riding at night. The color chart below is based on the standard poly/cotton blend twill.

Additional Thread Options

Metallic Thread : Metallic threads add extra brilliance and shimmer to your custom patches. While gold and silver are the most common metallic thread colors, we offer a range of other colors as well. This popular option is a great way to highlight portions of your design that you want to stand out.

Neon Thread : Want to give your patches a bold, bright eye-catching look? Go with neon thread! We offer a range of colors that give your patches a vibrant “wow” factor that you just can’t miss.

Military Subdued : Need muted colors to match mission camo? We offer a selection to match military or airsoft/paintball uniforms. Whether you need forest, multicam, desert or other mil-spec colors, we’ve got you covered.

Glow-in-the-Dark Thread : On the flip side of the subdued colors, we offer glow-in-the-dark thread too. This is a popular choice in white, green and yellow colors, especially for Scouts and other outdoor groups.

Additional Thread colors : If you have a complicated design that needs more than 7 colors, we can handle it. For a slight extra fee, we can add even more colors to your design. Keep in mind that multiple colors work best on larger patches.

Additional Special Options and Patch Customizations

3-D Embroidery : In 3-D embroidery, stiches are layered to give additional depth and dimension to images or text. This technique is best suited for patches with very simple designs because fine details will be lost as a result of the 3-D process.

Simulated Gemstones : If you want to highlight specific aspects of your design, we can incorporate simulated gemstones into your patch design, adding sparkle and visual interest.
